The Dream

While I was taking my daughter to school the other day I remembered the dream I had the night before.  I had a dream about snakes, lots of snakes.  I said, "I wonder what it means?"  my daughter didn't say anything, just teenage silence lingering in the car.  So, I decided to interpret my dream.  Being in the pest control business I said it could mean that we are going to have a very busy season.  Or it could simply mean that I'm gong to loose my hair, get fat, never have grand children, fall into a sink hole, and that I despise the color green (which I happen to love.)  She finally said something, "stop analyzing your dreams."

I didn't let that dampen my spirits though.  She's also the same person who told me to stop nicknaming my medicine.  I don't see the harm in calling a benadryl a bennie.  It just sounds better, and sounds fun.  Like, "hey while your in the kitchen, could you get me a bennie?"  Rather than, "my allergies suck, I need to take a benadryl."  That just sounds so serious and dumb.  But that's just me.

Cold and Cloudy

Today it is so cold even though the thermostat reads 44 degrees, it's just a cold 44 degrees.  It always feels much colder when the sun is not out.  I always tell my husband I can not live any more north than Oklahoma, that's as far north for me.  But I really do love the snow.  I was born in Calif and moved to Indiana where my parents were from when I was in the 2nd grade.  We lived there until I was 13 and then we moved back to Calif.  I remember having so much fun in the winter in Indiana and the cold didn't bother me at all.  Maybe it was cause I was a kid and was having too much fun in it.

Sometimes I think my house is drafty and that's why I get so cold in the winter.  I hate the house's here in Oklahoma at least in my town.  My town is an old oil boom town, houses went up real fast around here, not much to them.  But everybody tells me I have a nice house, I guess it can still be drafty even if it's a nice house.  I'm just ready for Spring and warmer temps. by Friday it will be in the 70's here and that's a good thing, for me the hotter the better.  I say that, but I don't have to work in it like my husband does.  I know he's not a big fan of scorching hot summers since he has to work out there in it.  Can't blame him.

Saturday we plan on going for a hike.  The weather should be nice and warm.

Calling The School

Have you ever had a moment when you just worry about something?  I actually called my daughter at school this morning to make sure she added blue ice to her lunch.  She was packing chicken salad.  I was getting the dogs together to take to the groomers so I was sightly preoccupied with that.  When I returned, I wondered if she thought of the blue ice, and if she didn't well, her chicken salad would get warm and we all know how warm mayonnaise can make you sick (at least that is what my mother always told me).  Kind of funny though, in my moment of panic I called her at school and asked her if she put in the blue ice, she said "yes" and that I was being very "mommish" ha.
